Chris is a handsome 1-year-old Lab mix weighing 31 pounds of pure enthusiasm and love. True to his Labrador roots, he is friendly, people-oriented, playful, and always ready for the next adventure. Labradors and Lab mixes are known for their intelligence and affectionate nature, and Chris absolutely lives up to that reputation. He thrives when he’s included in daily life and enjoys being part of the action.

Chris is very playful with other dogs and has done well with cats. He’s also good with kids, though because of his medium-high energy and excitement, he would do best in a home without toddlers. When he gets excited, he may jump up on people, so he will need continued guidance and leash practice to help him polish his manners. The good news is he is very treat motivated, which makes training both effective and fun.

This sweet boy loves toys, treats, playtime, and being around his people. He would do well in just about any type of housing, as long as his family is committed to giving him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Walks, play sessions, and structured activities will help him be his best self. He does enjoy digging outside, so a family willing to redirect that energy appropriately will be important.

Chris does resource guard his food from other dogs, so he will need to be fed separately and have a family that understands until he understands how to manage this safely until he understands he will never go hungry again. With clear structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he truly shines. Labs are eager to please and respond beautifully to routine and leadership, and Chris is no exception. Outdoor walking with Chris is still a work in progress as he is very overstimulated outdoors. Having another dog and a big yard to burn off energy will help Chris grow into a wonderful companion. 

He is neutered and heartworm negative, ready to find a home that will provide the exercise, structure, and love he needs to continue growing into an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, active best friend, Chris may be your guy. 🖤🐾
