Meet Vera, a 3-year-old Pug with a big personality packed into her adorable 14.6-pound frame! Rescued from a high-kill shelter, this little lady is full of spunk, charm, and love to give.

Vera gets along wonderfully with cats and kids and does well with most dogs—especially those who are patient and easygoing. She can be a bit bossy at mealtime, so she does best when given her own space to eat. She’s incredibly treat-motivated, which makes training and bonding with her all the more fun.

She’s fantastic on a leash and loves going for walks, car rides, or really any activity that lets her be part of your day. Vera is also house-trained and hasn’t had a single accident since joining the rescue! She’ll happily join in a barking chorus when other dogs start up, just to make sure her voice is heard too.

Her favorite things include treats, toys, running and playing in the yard, going for walks, and—most of all—snuggles and attention. Vera would make a wonderful companion for someone in an apartment or condo but would also thrive in a home with a fenced yard. She’s adaptable, affectionate, and always eager to be by your side.

Vera tested very light positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing the slow-kill treatment protocol. She’s otherwise healthy, happy, and ready for her forever family.
