🐾 Meet Sparky 🐾

Sparky is a 4-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing about 17 pounds. Like many dogs of his breed, he’s full of personality, intelligence, and a little spicey sometimes more typical of Jack Russell’s. Sparky enjoys running, playing, and soaking up affection from the people he trusts. While he may be a little nervous when meeting new people, he warms up quickly once he realizes he’s safe and loved.

Sparky does ok with other dogs, especially females with more submissive personalities. He also does fine around some cats and generally prefers to avoid them rather than interact but has had fights with others so we believe it’s best for Sparky to avoid homes with cats. Quick movements and loud activity can make him uneasy, Sparky would do best in a home without children. 

Like many rescue dogs, Sparky is still learning some of the basics. He is not yet house trained and is currently nervous on a leash, so he will need a patient family willing to work with him as he builds confidence. With gentle guidance, consistency, and encouragement, Sparky has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.

As a Jack Russell Terrier mix, Sparky carries the breed’s classic traits—smart, energetic, and eager to engage with his people. These dogs thrive when they have outlets for their energy and minds, such as playtime, training games, or secure areas where they can run and explore. Regular activity and mental enrichment will help keep Sparky happy and balanced.

Sparky would thrive with a family that understands that building trust takes time. Once he feels safe, his playful and affectionate nature really shines through.
