Meet Movado 🖤🐾

Movado is a massive 127-pound Cane Corso mix who may look intimidating at first glance, but the people spending time with him describe a dog who is soft, social, playful and surprisingly easygoing.

At 3 years old, Movado is a whole lot of dog - literally. But despite weighing about as much as some adults, volunteers have been surprised by just how easy he is to walk. He's been described as easygoing through the shelter and manageable on leash, even with his impressive size.

Movado has also done well meeting other dogs. His dog-to-dog assessment noted good greetings and described him as soft and social. He's even been comfortable approaching other dogs while walking past the shelter play yards.

This big guy knows sit, loves toys and is very playful. No food or toy aggression was observed during his assessment, and he's also been doing well in his kennel.

As a Cane Corso mix, Movado comes from a powerful guardian breed known for being intelligent, loyal, confident and deeply devoted to their families. Cane Corsos tend to form incredibly strong bonds with their people and often want to be close to the family rather than living life on the sidelines.

They're also a breed that benefits enormously from consistent expectations, positive training, continued socialization and an owner comfortable handling a very large, powerful dog. Movado may be easygoing, but at 127 pounds, his size alone means his future family should be prepared to continue reinforcing his good manners.

Cane Corsos are often naturally watchful and can be more reserved with unfamiliar situations as they mature. Giving Movado structure, enrichment and plenty of positive experiences will help him continue becoming the best version of himself.

And underneath all that size is a dog who apparently just wants to play with his toys, make some dog friends and hang out with his people.

Movado is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative.

If you're an experienced large-breed home looking for a giant, handsome, intelligent companion who has already shown himself to be social, playful and shockingly easy to walk for a 127-pound dog, Movado deserves a closer look. 🖤🐾
