Good with kids, dogs and cats.
Iris is a 1-year-old, 38 lb Siberian Husky with a heart as bright as her smile. She was surrendered by her previous owner and has handled the transition with the kind of sweetness and optimism Huskies are so loved for. This girl radiates joy, friendliness, and affection everywhere she goes.
As a Siberian Husky, Iris brings the breed’s classic mix of intelligence, playfulness, and loyalty. She loves being part of a family’s daily rhythm and thrives when she has opportunities for exercise, companionship, and a bit of fun. Her energy level is a comfortable medium—she’s active enough to enjoy walks and playtime but settles beautifully once her needs are met.
Iris adores everyone she meets. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, does well with cats, and absolutely lights up around children. She’s the kind of dog who stays close, leans in for affection, and loves giving gentle “hugs” by wrapping her front legs around you. Attention is her love language, and she soaks up every bit of it.
She’s a pleasure on the leash and enjoys her walks, exploring calmly by your side. She’s also house-trained and very treat-motivated, which makes continued training smooth and rewarding. Like many Huskies, she has a playful streak—she loves water, may decide a bit of digging is fun, and she’s not afraid to get a little messy. Families should be prepared for the occasional muddy bath time but also for the joy that comes with her big personality.
Iris does have a habit of jumping up on people when she’s excited. It’s a behavior she’s already improving with guidance, and with consistency and positive reinforcement, she’ll learn quicker than most thanks to her intelligence and eagerness to please.
A home with a secure yard where she can run, explore, and enjoy the outdoors would be ideal. In return, Iris offers unwavering affection, companionship, and a joyful presence that fills a home with warmth. She’s ready for a family who will adore her as much as she adores them.
