Meet Clay 🤎🐾
Clay is a stunning 10-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer mix with the most beautiful reddish-brown coat, striking eyes and an adventurous little spirit.
At just 37 pounds, Clay is still a young boy with so much growing, learning and exploring ahead of him. But even at his young age, he’s already showing so many of the wonderful qualities that could make him an incredible family companion.
Clay is playful, affectionate, intelligent and wonderfully social.
He’s good with other dogs, children and even livestock, making him a particularly interesting match for families who enjoy an active lifestyle or have a little extra space for their dogs to explore.
He’s also already housetrained, which is a fantastic foundation for a puppy his age.
Clay has a medium energy level, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he wouldn’t enjoy an adventure. This boy has the heart of an explorer and would love a family who enjoys spending time outdoors.
Whether it’s exploring trails, going for walks, playing in the yard or simply tagging along while his people go about their day, Clay seems like the kind of dog who would love being included.
And his breed background makes him even more special.
German Shorthaired Pointers are known for being incredibly intelligent, athletic, affectionate and deeply connected to their people. Originally developed as versatile hunting companions, they tend to love activities that engage both their minds and bodies.
They’re also known for being enthusiastic, eager to learn and wonderfully devoted family dogs when given the exercise, enrichment and companionship they need.
For Clay, that could mean learning new commands, exploring different environments, playing games that encourage him to use his nose or simply enjoying daily adventures with his favourite humans.
He’s young, smart and at a wonderful age to continue learning.
Like any adolescent dog, Clay will benefit from consistent routines, positive reinforcement and a family willing to help him develop into a confident, well-mannered adult.
We would especially love to see him with someone who appreciates an intelligent working-breed mix and understands how rewarding it can be to give these dogs opportunities to learn and explore.
Clay is vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is not currently neutered.
What makes Clay so appealing is that he already has such a lovely combination of qualities.
He’s social with dogs, good with children, comfortable around livestock, housetrained and affectionate with people.
And at only 10 months old, he has his entire life ahead of him.
He deserves to spend those years discovering new places, building a bond with his family, enjoying the outdoors and experiencing the security of a home where he truly belongs.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, intelligent, affectionate young dog with an adventurous spirit and a wonderful foundation, Clay might be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. 🤎🐾
