Charlotte is a brave and resilient 9- month-old German Shepherd mix who has already overcome more in her short life than most dogs ever will. Born partially paralyzed, Charlotte went through physical therapy and water therapy as a puppy, and thanks to her determination (and a little help along the way), she regained about 80% of her mobility. While one of her back legs still has some paralysis, you’d hardly know it once she’s on her feet—Charlotte can walk, run, play, and enjoy life with the same joy as any other pup.

True to her breed, Charlotte is intelligent, loyal, and deeply loving, though she can be a bit shy when meeting new people or adjusting to new places. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines, and she becomes a devoted companion who will stick by your side through everything. She’s wonderful with other dogs, gentle with cats, and absolutely adores children. Playtime with toys and treats makes her happiest, and she loves the company of a furry playmate.

Because of her mobility needs, Charlotte would do best in a single-story home and would love a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and play. She is also still learning how to handle stairs, so her future family will need to be mindful and patient as she continues building her strength and confidence. Like most German Shepherds, Charlotte thrives on mental stimulation and training—puzzle toys, learning new cues, and engaging with her people will keep her sharp and happy. A soft bed at night, love from her people, and support when she needs it is all she asks for in return.

Charlotte may have had a difficult start, but she has an incredible spirit and a heart that’s ready to give everything to the family who opens theirs to her. With just a little extra care, she will reward her forever family with loyalty, love, and endless joy.
