Meet Cami 🤍🐾

Cami is a beautiful 1-year-old Carolina Dog/Shepherd mix weighing just 37 pounds, and this sweet young girl is ready to find people who will make her part of their world.

Cami is friendly, affectionate and loves attention. She’s happiest when she’s included and able to spend time with her people. She’s also very treat motivated, which is a huge advantage for continued training - especially because she’s still so young and has plenty left to learn.

She’s already crate trained and happens to be a fantastic little passenger in the car. Whether it’s a trip to the trails, a weekend away or simply running errands together, Cami is happy to come along for the ride.

And Cami is wonderfully social. She’s good with dogs, cats AND kids, giving her the potential to fit into many different family situations.

She has a medium energy level and doesn’t require a huge property or a particular type of home to be happy. What matters much more is having a family who will give her regular exercise, mental enrichment, consistency and the companionship she clearly loves.

Cami is still working on her leash skills and will need some patient practice so her new family should also be prepared to establish a consistent routine while she settles in.

A pretty special breed combination

Cami’s Carolina Dog heritage is particularly fascinating. Carolina Dogs are considered an ancient North American landrace, with ancestors believed to have accompanied people into North America thousands of years ago. Historically, dogs of this type lived alongside Indigenous communities before later surviving as free-ranging populations, particularly in the southeastern United States.

They’re known for being intelligent, observant, adaptable and deeply connected to their social group. Shepherds bring many of those same qualities - intelligence, loyalty and a strong desire to be involved with their people.

That makes Cami’s personality particularly fitting. She doesn’t just want somewhere to live - she wants to belong and participate.

At only one year old, she has so much potential. Continued positive training, adventures, new experiences and plenty of time with her family will help this young girl grow into an incredible adult companion.

Cami is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative, with no known health concerns or physical limitations.
