Meet Balto 💕

Balto is a 4-year-old Husky with the sweetest personality and a heart full of love. He absolutely loves being outside in all types of weather and chasing squirrels like it’s his personal life mission.

When Balto first arrived with us, it was obvious he had lived a very hard life. He was incredibly shut down - quiet, cautious, and almost unsure of how to simply be a dog. Despite everything he had clearly been through, he remained gentle, calm, and trusting with people. It was heartbreaking to watch a dog so sweet seem like he had never really been allowed to relax, play, or just enjoy life before.

Over time, his personality has slowly started to shine through. With a nice medium energy level, Balto enjoys getting outside and exploring, but he’s just as content curling up beside you at the end of the day to relax and watch TV. He’s very calm in the house and happiest when he can simply be near his people, whether that’s following you around like your little shadow or napping quietly nearby.

Balto can be a little cautious with new things at first, but he’s naturally curious and observant, and he warms up in his own time. Once he feels comfortable, he is incredibly affectionate and absolutely lives for attention, especially nose rubs.

He is amazing with people and children and does well with dogs his size. He will need continued guidance and supervision around cats and smaller dogs.

Balto is doing very well with crate training and house training and is not much of a barker, making him an easy and enjoyable companion to have around.

As a Husky, Balto is intelligent, loyal, and thrives in a home that can provide regular exercise, consistency, and companionship. He would love a family that appreciates both his adventurous side and his soft, affectionate nature.

Balto is truly one of those special dogs who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. More than anything, he deserves a home where he never has to feel shut down or forgotten again.
