Meet Artemis 💔

Artemis is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix weighing 35 pounds who deserves so much more kindness and stability than life has given her so far.

There is something deeply heartbreaking about Artemis. She is gentle, quiet, soft-natured, and so clearly a dog who has spent much of her life simply trying to stay safe in a world that hasn’t always been gentle with her. She doesn’t ask for much - just patience, softness, reassurance, and someone willing to show her that love can be consistent.

Despite everything, Artemis remains incredibly sweet. She gets along well with dogs and cats and does well with respectful children ages 6 and up. She is crate trained and finds comfort in having a safe place of her own where she can finally relax and breathe.

Artemis enjoys calm companionship, quiet affection, and simply being near people she trusts. Once she feels safe, her gentle personality slowly starts to shine through in the sweetest ways. She is the kind of dog who doesn’t need a perfect home - she just needs a compassionate one.

She is still building confidence with leash walking and new experiences, so she will need patience and gentle guidance as she adjusts to life outside of survival mode. What Artemis truly needs is someone willing to let her move at her own pace while reminding her every day that she is safe now.

As a Labrador Retriever mix, Artemis is intelligent, loyal, and deeply people-oriented. Beneath her cautious exterior is a dog who wants connection, comfort, and belonging just like any other dog.

Artemis has no known health concerns or physical limitations and is ready to finally experience what every dog deserves - a soft bed, loving hands, peaceful routines, and a family who will never give up on her again.
